We're honored to introduce Danielle Hodge as the Community Event Host for the Atlanta, Georgia Shots 4 Meningitis event. Through The PAMAH Foundation, Danielle has transformed unimaginable personal loss into a mission to educate others, raise awareness, and help prevent more families from experiencing the heartbreak meningitis can cause.
Below, in Danielle's own words, is why she joined Shots 4 Meningitis and why this mission means so much to her family.
"The PAMAH Foundation was founded in loving memory of Percilla Ann Marie April-Hodge, who passed away from pneumococcal meningitis in 2018. What began as unimaginable loss became a commitment to ensure that other families have access to the education and resources that could help prevent similar tragedies.
Our mission is to raise awareness about meningitis and the importance of vaccination through education, advocacy, and community engagement. We believe that knowledge saves lives, and every conversation about meningitis has the potential to protect a family from experiencing the heartbreak that ours endured.
As proud representatives of the City of Atlanta during the annual Shots 4 Meningitis campaign, we are honored to stand alongside advocates, healthcare professionals, survivors, and families across the country who are working toward the same goal: a future where preventable cases of meningitis are significantly reduced.
Together, we are turning grief into purpose, raising critical funds for meningitis advocacy, and ensuring that Percilla's legacy continues to inspire hope, education, and action, one conversation, one family, and one community at a time."
We're grateful to have Danielle and The PAMAH Foundation leading our efforts in the Atlanta area and helping expand the reach of meningitis awareness across Georgia. To learn more, visit the Atlanta Event Page.
